About Melissa

I studied Neuroscience and Behavior (2012–2016) at FAU, then returned for a second degree in Marketing (2017–2020). Pivoting from pre-med to business allowed me to apply my scientific insights to brand strategy in a powerful way. Behavioral science remains the foundation of everything I do, because unlocking real growth starts with understanding the audience at the deepest level.

In 2020, I started freelancing, laying the groundwork for what would become Nova Scope Marketing. By 2022, I took a chance and put my entire focus into developing a system for turning social media attention into real customer growth. For three years, I learned firsthand what it truly means to be an online creator: from mapping out content and surviving content-batching days, to learning what pleases the algorithm overlords and showing up consistently for followers. That experience shaped my understanding of exactly what it takes to design intentional, measurable content with lasting momentum.

During my own digital journey, most creators were facing the exact same challenges. Staying responsive to an audience while managing multiple platforms without burning out is tough. Ignoring comments and DMs weakens trust, and even users who leave only emojis or three-word compliments deserve acknowledgment. Those quick interactions are prime opportunities to build connection so platforms reward your consistent engagement. I help solve both sides of the equation so creators and business owners can stay focused on what they do best.

Off the Record

Q: How long have you been on social media?

Since before it was called that. I got my start in the early 2000s on AOL Chatrooms, MySpace, and GaiaOnline, learning the unwritten rules of every subculture I stumbled into.

Q: What's the most unexpected thing that made you better at this?

Bartending. Reading a room, anticipating what people want before they ask, and knowing how to make someone feel seen. If life were the internet, it would be like community management with shaker tins and a POS. I've worked everywhere from Ultra Music Festival and Best of the Best Festival to the Hard Rock and Naked Taco, and every environment taught me something different about people.

Q: What's your approach under the hood?

Behavioral science meets creative instinct. I think deeply about why people click, share, and follow just as much as the content itself.

Q: How many versions of yourself have you been online?

More than I'll admit! Every alias taught me something about identity, audience, and what actually makes people pay attention.

Q: What's your platform take?

MySpace before the ads ruined it will always have my heart. The customization, the culture, the Top 8 drama was simply unmatched. For community, nothing beats Threads, Bluesky, or Reddit for finding your actual tribe. Instagram is where I perform best and honestly love the format. And TikTok has the best short-form editing tools, full stop.

Q: Any skill outside of marketing that shapes how you work?

I have a background in fine arts and won a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. I also spent years doing event marketing for House of Creatives, a music festival built entirely around independent artists. That combination of aesthetic instinct plus scrappy, real-world promotion is probably the most "me" summary of how I approach any project.

Q: What actually stops your scroll?

A caption that makes me need to know more. Visuals that have a clear aesthetic point of view whether the outfit, the environment, or the whole shot is on point. A take that's genuinely interesting politically, philosophically, or spiritually. And good humor will get me every time.
